FINALLY!!! There have been rumors and hints at when this album would be coming out for what feels like years at this point. It will end up being roughly a year and a half since their last album, Magpie and the Dandelion, on June 24th when the Avetts’ newest creation is released. The record is called True Sadness and according to an electronic letter sent to fans by Seth Avett himself, will contain a myriad of sounds and styles. The Avetts have a pension for playing unrecorded songs that will eventually show up on their next record in concerts and these recent tours have been no different. Songs like “Rejects in the Attic,” “Satan Pulls The Strings” and “Method Actor” all have potential to show up on True Sadness which makes the waiting and speculation all the more exciting. Not that any sane person could need more reason for hype but here is a live version of “Rejects” for all to enjoy brought to you by the biggest Avett fan of all, Youtube’s own DCRANGERFAN.
