It’s not often that people get to watch a living legend do what they do best over 50 years after they started doing it.  Luckily for folk fans, the incomparable Joan Baez is returning the the stages of New York City to celebrate her 75th birthday by playing Beacon Theatre.  Baez was one of the pioneers of the Greenwich Village folk movement in the 1960s, a contemporary of Bob Dylan, with one of the most notably beautiful voices in the bunch.

For appreciators of folk music this concert is an absolute must see.  Baez’ music has gone down in history as some of the most pivotal of the 60s, and Beacon Theatre is a great place to watch a legend play.  The show will be on January 27th and will undoubtedly be a great way to kick start the new year.

For added motivation here is a video of Joan playing Bob Dylan’s, “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright.”
